Options trader interviews are a great source of learning for anyone starting out in options trading. It takes a while to learn enough about options trading in order to be successful, so it makes sense to find mentors and learn from people who have gone before you and been successful. Interviews are a great way to get an insight into the minds of great traders, and learn what it is that has made them successful.

One of the first interviews I did was with a guy by the name of Mike Smith, who was not only an options trader, but an options trading coach as well. I got so much out of the interview and it made a massive difference to my trading. Here are some examples of the great advice that Mike gives during this interview:

* 80% of your success is due to PSYCHOLOGY
* Be realistic about expectations. Don't let yourself get pumped up by big figures.
* Have a plan, trade a plan, review your plan!
* Focus on exits

These 4 points are so simple, yet to have the reinforced by someone who is making a living from trading options really struck home with me about how important they are.

Another person whom I have been fortunate enough to interview is Andrew Davey of Ezy Options. This is a guy who was a millionaire before he turned 30, so I knew the advice that he had to give would be worth listening to. Andrews favorite quote is "It's not your conditions, but your decisions that shape your financial destiny" by Anthony Robbins.

Andrew focuses mainly on covered calls and his primary aim with his trading is to stick to the absolute basics while controlling overall levels of risk.

The main reason I find interviews to be a great form of learning, is that you don't have to spend hours trawling through options trading books trying to learn everything you can. This approach can take so much time and there is just an overwhelming amount of information to take in. Interviews, as a form of learning, allow you to take in all the information within 30 minutes or an hour or so and you are being given all the key factors and information needed to become a successful trader. I myself have taken so much out of conducting these options trader interviews and I have been trading for a number of years, I'm sure beginners would be able to gain a lot more benefit from them than I did.
